If you've ever had to look up what "SCD Type 2" means, you're not alone. This month we've renamed this concept across AgileData to "Change Tracking" — a term that says exactly what it does.

Slowly Changing Dimension Type 2 is a data warehousing technique for keeping a full history of how records change over time. It's a powerful feature, but the name has always been a barrier for people who aren't data engineers by background. "Change Tracking" conveys the same idea immediately, without the jargon.

This is a naming update only — the underlying capability is unchanged. Any rules or configurations you have set up continue to work exactly as before.

* "SCD Type 2" and "SCD2" renamed to "Change Tracking" throughout the product
* Documentation and API descriptions updated to use the new terminology
