AgileData.io - Stability First: Svelte 5 Migration Assessed and Deferred

The team conducted a thorough evaluation of migrating the AgileData frontend from Svelte 4 to Svelte 5, including deploying to the test environment and resolving compatibility issues with Vite 8 and updated dependencies.

During testing, a filtering regression was identified that broke core catalog functionality. Rather than ship a degraded experience, the team made the decision to revert to the stable Svelte 4 codebase while the Svelte 5 migration continues to be worked through in a dedicated feature branch.

This work has given us a clear picture of what the migration requires, and the Svelte 5 upgrade will be delivered as a complete, stable release when ready.

**What happened:**

* Svelte 5 and Vite 8 compatibility issues investigated and resolved in feature branch
* Migrated to `@humanspeak/svelte-markdown` for Vite 8 compatibility
* Filtering functionality regression discovered during testing
* Decision made to revert to stable Svelte 4 to maintain a reliable user experience
