2024-02-28 - UNION into table¶
Problem¶
The UNION rule type pattern is designed to create views over unioned tiles, effectively racking and stacking the data in multiple Tiles on top of each other. The current patterns is a problematic when source tiles are large and the data in them does not change, querying the new View Tile is slow and expensive.
Solution¶
Extend the UNION Rule Step template to include the required attributes for persisting the results into a table, rather than a view.
Leverage the Magic¶
Nothing to see here, its is a bank end change to the Rule Step Template that is transparent to the data magician.
