Problem¶
When we archived consume tiles, sometimes they weren’t physical tables but views (ie nodata to archive)
Solution¶
When archiving a tile, check if the physical object is a table or view. If its a view then create a physical table with the snapshot of data from the view at that point in time.
Leverage the Magic¶
By leveraging the exisisting archive tile cloud function, we just needed to check the BQ object type and run a create table statement (to physicalise the view) instead of a copy table statement (for creating an archive copy of a table)
