To help you build cleaner, more maintainable data models, we’ve added a helpful guardrail when creating transformation rules.

What Changed:

Smart Guardrails: When a source table has more than 50 fields, the “select all” option is now hidden on the rules screen
Intentional Design: This gentle nudge encourages you to think about which fields you truly need
Avoid Bloat: Prevents creating unwieldy tables with hundreds of columns that become difficult to work with and slow to query
Better Performance: Smaller, focused tables load faster and are easier to understand and maintain

Why This Matters:

Wide tables with many unused columns create several problems: they’re slower to query, harder for your team to understand, and more expensive to process. This change encourages best practices in data modeling, helping you create lean, purpose-built tables that serve your analysis needs efficiently.

You can still select individual fields as needed—we’re just encouraging you to be thoughtful about what you include rather than defaulting to “everything.”
