2026-10-20 - Detail Tiles No Longer Create Overlapping Versions on Reload¶
Release¶
AgileData.io - Clean Timelines: Detail Records Stay Correct When Data Is Reloaded
Detail tiles keep a timeline of each record, with a start and end date for every version. When a load re-processed older data, for example after a reload or a re-run over earlier partitions, records that hadn’t changed could be inserted again as new versions. Earlier versions could also be given the wrong end date, which produced overlapping rows for the same record.
The detail load now compares re-read data against every version that was active during the reload window, not only the current one. The end dates are then recalculated correctly. A tie-breaker has also been added for records that arrive with identical source timestamps, which previously could cause load errors. The same protection applies to event tables.
What was happening:
Unchanged records re-inserted as new versions when older data was reprocessed
Overlapping versions with incorrect end dates in detail tiles
Occasional load errors when source timestamps were identical
What this means for you:
Accurate point-in-time history in your detail tiles
Safe reloads without corrupting the version timeline
Fewer failed loads from inconsistent source timestamps
