2026-05-29 - Ask ADI: Upgraded to Google AI Agent SDK and Gemini 3.5 Flash¶
Release¶
AgileData.io - Modern AI Foundation: ADI Migrated to Google AI Agent SDK and Gemini 3.5 Flash
Ask ADI has been migrated from the legacy Gemini model SDK to Google’s new AI Agent SDK, running on the Gemini 3.5 Flash model. This is a foundational upgrade to the AI layer that underpins ADI — the new SDK is purpose-built for agent-based AI interactions and brings improved reliability, better tool orchestration, and a cleaner integration with Google’s latest AI capabilities.
As part of this upgrade, the way ADI gathers and processes context from its tools has been improved. Rather than handling each tool’s output individually, ADI now consolidates all tool responses into a single unified context before generating its answer. This means ADI has a more complete picture of your data environment when it responds, leading to more coherent and accurate answers.
We also tuned the AI’s “thinking level” — the amount of internal reasoning it does before responding. We found that a minimal thinking level produces answers just as good as a medium level, but noticeably faster. The result is an ADI that feels snappier without sacrificing quality.
What’s New:
Migrated from the legacy Gemini model SDK to the new Google AI Agent SDK
Running on Gemini 3.5 Flash for faster, higher-quality responses
All tool context responses are now gathered and unified before ADI generates an answer
Thinking level tuned to minimal for optimal speed-to-quality balance
What this means for you:
ADI responds faster to your questions
Answers draw on a more complete picture of your data context
More reliable AI agent behaviour built on Google’s latest agent-native SDK
