FileDrop rules are designed to run automatically when a file arrives in your configured drop location — they are event-driven by nature. To prevent confusion, the manual “Run Rule” option is now disabled for FileDrop rules in the interface.
Previously, the Run Rule option appeared for all rule types, which could lead to attempts to manually trigger a FileDrop rule and unexpected or undefined behaviour. Now the interface makes it clear: FileDrop rules wait for a file. When your file arrives, the rule runs automatically.
What’s New:
The Run Rule option is disabled for FileDrop rules in the rules screen
What this means for you:
No confusion about whether a FileDrop rule can be triggered manually
Clearer signposting that FileDrop rules are event-driven and file-triggered only
Prevents accidental manual trigger attempts that wouldn’t behave as expected
