2026-04-15 - Risk Tags Now Recognised Regardless of Case¶
Release¶
AgileData.io - Tags That Work: Risk Tags Now Case-Insensitive
Risk tags you add manually in the catalog are now recognised by AgileData’s automated patterns regardless of whether you type them in uppercase, lowercase, or mixed case. Previously, a tag like --Risk or --RISK would not trigger the expected governance behaviour.
AgileData uses tag patterns to identify and act on risk-annotated data assets. These patterns were case-sensitive, meaning manually typed tags that didn’t exactly match the expected lowercase format (--risk) were silently ignored. This update normalises all manually entered risk tags to lowercase before they are evaluated, so your governance annotations work as intended regardless of how they were typed.
What was happening:
Manually created
--risktags with uppercase letters (e.g.--Risk,--RISK) were not matched by governance patternsTags appeared to be applied but had no effect on automated risk detection
The issue only affected manually entered tags — tags applied via automated rules were unaffected
What this means for you:
Risk tags you type manually are always recognised and enforced
No need to worry about case when adding risk annotations to catalog tiles
More reliable governance coverage across your entire catalog
