2026-10-21 - Ask ADI Now Passes Filters Like Table and Date to Its Tools¶
Release¶
AgileData.io - Sharper Answers: ADI Uses the Details in Your Question
When you ask ADI a question, it calls AgileData tools behind the scenes to find the answer. ADI was not being told about some optional settings on those tools. So a question like “show me trust results for the orders table this week” was answered by fetching results for every table, with no date range, and then filtering the answer.
ADI now sees these optional settings and uses them. Trust results can be filtered by table and date, catalog search can take a search term, and rule type explanations can target a specific rule type. Dates ADI supplies are checked before use. If one isn’t valid, ADI is told so and can correct it, rather than the question failing.
What was happening:
Optional tool settings, such as table and date filters, hidden from ADI
ADI fetching far more data than needed and answering more slowly
Invalid dates able to cause a failed answer
What this means for you:
Faster, more focused answers to specific questions
Questions about one table or time period return just that information
Fewer failed conversations caused by date formats
