2026-09-27 - Output Names With Multiple AS Keywords Parsed Correctly¶
Release¶
AgileData.io - Cleaner Parsing: Complex Expressions No Longer Confuse Output Names
When a rule’s output expression contained more than one AS keyword, for example CAST(x AS STRING) AS customer_code, the rule parser could pick up the wrong part of the expression as the output column name. This produced incorrect column names or rules that failed to parse.
The parser now uses the final AS as the output alias, so expressions containing casts and other AS clauses resolve to the name you intended.
What was happening:
Output names taken from the wrong
ASin expressions such as castsUnexpected column names or parse failures on otherwise valid rules
What this means for you:
Write natural SQL expressions without workarounds
Output columns named exactly as you specified
